I will be continuing the topic of 'free stuff' from my last post. This time, however, I will be discussing it in conjunction with Giveaways.
I scheduled a Goodreads Giveaway for the month of October and set aside five copies of Call of the Black Panther for it. The response has been very positive. Before I'd even had a chance to advertise it on relevant Goodreads groups, 136 people had entered and 70 people had marked it as to-read. WOW!!! I can safely say that Giveaways have thus far been the most successful marketing strategy for me. After this one is over, I may try running another Giveaway on Amazon in conjunction with the Christmas season.
Come November, I will be present at a Local Author's Book Fair in my city to discuss, promote, and maybe even sell some copies of my book! I have got a nice table-top sign, about 20 copies of the book and some Schliech animals to add visual appeal. I am nervous and excited about it since it will be my first face-to-face meeting with strangers to pitch my book. Speaking of pitching, that's something else I'm working on. Below are a few examples of what I'm toying around with.
"A young woman must come to terms with her identity among a rapidly changing power structure as two branches of the human family fight for supremacy. Aided by a man in a black panther's body, Irene Melina is caught between two worlds in a conflict whose outcome will change her life forever."
"In a world not unlike our own, a branch of the human species has the ability to take on the form of other animals. When one of these Creatures plans to wage war against Homo sapiens, the only ones who can stop him are a young man in a panther's body and his own daughter."
In other news, I have discovered a cool little game called 'Crypt of the Necrodancer'. I haven't actually played it yet, but the songs have been buzzing around in my head. I am considering writing a short fanfiction about the game's narrative since it is the month of Halloween and I am intrigued by the set-up. Here is a screen shot of Cadance, the protagonist, in the crypt.
